Alan Shearer says Everton are favourites for 4th

Shearer is right tho, we are playing alot better then the other contenders and I think Moyes will have to buy in January. I wouldnt be surprised if West Brom pushed us for a while too, their not the prettiest to watch but they do a job (remind me of us the season we finished 4th)

So I've just figured out the table for 2012 (January 1 - now). We're 3rd on 55 points, 5 points ahead of Arsenal, 8 ahead of Spurs and (wait for it)...(...)...(get ready to laugh)...(GET. READY. TO. LAUGH.)...26 points ahead of Liverpool.

Just heard John Motson on 5L.

Taking 2nd half of last season, (when we started getting bosser), and this season, we have lost 3 games in 29. One of those being West Brom.......

Dont think losing to West Brom should be seen as a bad thing. Dont think people on here are giving them the credit they deserve. Not many teams will win at their place this season, that is for certain.

Really don't think we're gonna get fourth. Our away form is always terrible. This season alone we've dropped 3 points over the course of the away games we've played this season in comparison to the same fixtures last season. Not saying it's a cause for concern yet but we do need to start getting results at teams in the top 8, which we didnt do last season and we only picked up 1 point

To finish 3rd you just need two points for every game, draw all the aways and win all the homes and you do it. We're only one point beind that target.

Agree; the point was that the only loss this season was against a very good side.

True. I'm confident in our home form its just when we go away from home that I worry

The key to being there at the end is by setting a target of 70 points and delivering against it. The one exception to this was of course 2005 when we got 4th with 61 points. We need to aim higher this season tho, historically 61 isn't enough. Its a big ask but 20 wins throughout the season should be the aim. We are bang on target to get at least 10 draws so 20 wins will get us to at least 70 points. That means 15 wins from 27! We will realistically lose at about 7/ 8 of that 27 so that illustrates the difficulty of the task. However I can see us doing it for one overiding reason, we have plenty of goals in this team! Of course I am speculating. I am not accounting for possible injuries/sales etc and we might only need 65ish points as arse and spurs have started poorly. However I have based this target on what has got 4th in the past and the liklihood that one of spurs/arse will go on a run. It is in our hands and playing both arse and spurs at home in the next month is a big advantage and an opportunity to open a gap.

Oh no!They`ll all be jumping on the bandwagon soon. And we all know what happens whenwe have expectation on our shoulders.
Why can`t they just leave us alone.
