Alan Shearer says Everton are favourites for 4th

Strange season so far though. We have played as well as anyone at times, and everyone seems to be letting in odd goals. For the first time for ages I would not be that surprised if we got a result against anyone in the league ATM, but, relative to most, our squad is a bit on the thin side.

Is 4th on? Could be, then again, I would not be amazed if Citeh implode, nor if Utds midfield/defence seize up, so you never know, could be between us and Chelsea..................

*wakes up with a woody*

As in who stays??? Spot on.

Why is Fellaini going to want to leave in January, when the club he loves is looking like they're in with a chance of a Champions league place?

I don't see him going in January. The board wouldn't accept a big bid on him (unless it was crazy money) and even then they'd have to get the green light from Moyes first, especially as he might leave, if they went against him, at the end of the season.

End of the season, possible, yes but I can't see him leaving before then, whatever happens.

Never suggested he would mate. The point is he, or anyone else for that matter, might.

Agree with you though, cant see it, other than for daft money.

We need to knock the habit of conceding so many goals if we're going to finish in the top 4. The rest of our play is quality and we've done it consistently since January.

Think what does help us this year is most teams are letting alot of goals in so even thought are we concede alot we are not loosing alot of ground but we should tighten up at the back because it will be crucial come end of the season

After our next 2 Prem matches, it will be make or break time from the end of November to the beginning of 2013.... (Arse, City, Spurs, Stoke, West Ham, Wigan, Chelsea) If we do well we will finish 4th I believe. Some really tough games in there with even the easy ones being potential slip ups.

I just hope we have that £6m to play with in January still. I don't see any reason why not, so fingers crossed.

Although we have a small squad I think we'll improve as the season goes on. Players like Mirallas, Coleman, Naismith will only improve as the season goes on.

I've got a feeling Oveido will turn out to be a really good player for us too, in an attacking sense, and I don't think we've seen Pienaar hit a run of form yet.

Considering Gibson, a key player for us, has been out of the first 11 for so many games and we're still doing well and it looks really promising.

If Moyes could add one more midfielder, hopefully Ofoe, or someone similar I think we'll have a good chance of 4th with a bit of luck.

So I've just figured out the table for 2012 (January 1 - now). We're 3rd on 55 points, 5 points ahead of Arsenal, 8 ahead of Spurs and (wait for it)...(...)...(get ready to laugh)...(GET. READY. TO. LAUGH.)...26 points ahead of Liverpool.

How many did the two manc teams and Chelski have?

I'd seriously take Baines, Jelavic, Mirallas, Perhaps not Howard, Coleman, Jagielka/Heitinga/Distin, and Fellaini above all those.....thus far only City, Utd and Chelsea are any better than us.
