Alan Shearer says Everton are favourites for 4th

They just won't. Look at West Brom's league position over the past few years compared to ours. They'll be mid table come february/march

Fair enough. So by that same logic, we haven't a hope in hell of finishing ahead of Arsenal, so we're still not finishing fourth!

We have a good chance.

2 very winnable games coming up.
Don't have to worry about midweek football.

Realistically I think it's going to be between us, Spurs & Arsenal for the 4th place.

Depends on Felli, he stays in Jan, we have a great chance for 4th. I don't fear any team at home. If he leaves we won't finish 4th, he's that important to the way we play.

I honestly believe fourth is a reality for us, only if we get lucky with injuries / suspensions. We are consistently playing the best football in the league this year but our squad is very small and a few injuries or suspensions will knock the wind out of our sails imo. That aside, I would f'ing love to finish fourth, keep Fellaini and ram it down the neck of the other sh**e from across the park!! What a time to be a blue, after years of indifference we are finally making people sit up and take notice (footy focus from goodison anyone?) Long may it continue, onwards and upwards...IMWT COYB!!!!

Stuff 4th, I want a title challenge.

Seriously though, Arsenal and Spurs look like they have problems at present and Liverpool and Newcastle might already be a bit far behind. The matches coming up with Arsenal and Spurs are huge but first off we need to beat Reading and Norwich, do that and I may start believing. January window will be massive also, can't seriously expect to challenge for 4th with Neville playing all the time so he needs replacing in the next window.

Obviously people haven't looked at our end of season - we've got the annual choker at Anfield then West Ham doubtless in a survival scrap topped off by Chelsea going for the title at Stamford Bridge.

All pressure games and after 11 years we all know what happens with Moyes when the pressure's on.

7th to 9th.

Yawn.

Think we will pull away from WBA as will Arsenal and Spurs, but as posted previously I think it's between us and those two.
What worries me is the amount of 'home bankers' (Swansea, Villa, WBA, Reading, Stoke, QPR, Fulham and West Ham) we have in the second half of the season, where we will no doubt be kicking ourselves because of stupid dropped points.
While we have a run of away games that goes Newcastle, Southampton, Man Utd, Arsenal, Spurs, Sunderland, Liverpool, Chelsea.
Where out of the 7 games we played last season at those clubs, we picked up 2 pts.
Next month is vital.

This will be another January where we're all saying "if only Kenwright could scrape together 10 million to help us consolidate our position and add one special player to the squad" - alas it won't happen, injuries will strike and we'll finish 7th.

We just need to keep racking up the points. We have no one to fear the way we're playing and Gibson coming back (if he ever does) will improve us significantly.
