Aiden McGeady

I think he will be a top asset, he looks like he has a few pounds to shed and some fitness to gain but he is still pretty fast.

We need him to put pressure on Mirallas, who for me is starting to annoy me. He is incredibly selfish - selfish can be good in a striker, but not a winger when he has players around him and he shoots from 25 yards far too often.

Haha, I got caught up in the 'winger should track full back' school of thought.

where as that was the case under moyes, i'm sure i've read that martinez wants his wingers to play with more freedom and with the shackles off. of course that will see us concede more, but you would feel it would see us score more and gain more points, purely because we have better players than 3/4rs of the league and we'll outscore them. hence we've wom 3 games 3-2 now.

Agree with @Azzurri here.

The winger should track the full back, and even if he's been told not to, Rangel ran straight past him, so he should be tracking him anyway, goes without saying.

Was pretty obvious that McGeady and Mirallas had been told to stay up the pitch on Saturday to provide a threat on the counter. Coleman and Baines were left very isolated at times and Swansea were frequently playing balls in behind them. Crazy to blame McGeady (or Mirallas) for this, it's clearly what they've been told to do. For what it's worth, I think the tactics were a mistake and I whilst I understand the thinking behind it, I don't think it really worked, despite the result.

Separately, I am beginning to see what Martinez sees in McGeady. He is equally comfortable coming inside and looking for a clever pass as he is trying to beat a man on the outside and trying to put a cross in. I'm still not 100% sure what his best foot is. He's not quite as quick as I was expecting him to be (although he's by no means slow) but I think he'll turn out to be a very useful player.

Think the lad is a true winger, works hard and has skills. He seems to be growing into the shirt .He worry´s defenders the way he runs at them. Think he could be a gem.

Will admit that he is starting to win me over game by game, looks a totally different player than the selfish player i saw for Moscow
