That Magaye Gueye, he runs like he's sh*t himself. Seriously need to get shot of him.

What's all this nonsense about Fellaini not looking interested and Gibson playing poor? Felli looked fine and Gibbo was man of the match. That Oviedo impressed me as well and Mirallas looks to be very sharp already, was skinning people for a laugh.

Just seems to be the way alot of fans are keen to view felli at the moment, you'd think he was behaving like suarez the way he's getting chatted about

He looked a bit out of sorts the other day but it was the first pre-season game, all the players likely couldn't be arsed upping the gear. If we lose Fellaini or Baines then good luck to them, both given us years of faithful service and deserve a chance at the big time. Why people seem so eager to just look for reasons to say negative things about them right now (especially Marouane) is beyond me.

Barely nonsense, "gibbo4"..

He tried that diagonal ball so many times, and rarely it came off, with a few misplaced normal passes that are simply bread and butter for someone of his passing ability. I couldn't really care as it was only a friendly as long as he is not overhitting passes when it matters.

Pure gas. Have a rewatch of the match, pal.

Mirallas eyes look like they don't belong in his head. He looks like he was bummed by a poltergeist twenty years ago and can't get over it just yet.

I'm sitting here laughing to myself at this like a proper creep.

hopefully junior will be given time against blackburn to give us a better idea whether he could be an answer. Seen him kick the ball away furiously after the whistle, think it was because he had 2 touches of the ball and cocked them both up. Lundstram is also an option, but i would prefer a more experienced backup than those two.
Yes, when he punted the ball away, he also accidentally mis-kicked it and it pea rolled along the turf, which was amusing.

I'm sorry but this is surely nonsense. He was the commentators motm and probably mine too. The commentators also took it upon themselves to mention his high pass-rate which was there for all to see. I mean we're talking what, 5-7 misplaced passes and 80-90% passing accuracy and you think this equals "so many misplaced passes". You're right that he somewhat faded at the end which accounted for a couple in succession but did you forget the other 80 minutes where he played many a cross-field beauty. Must have been watching a different game, sir.
I agree, must admit I stopped reading his post when I seen the Gibbo write up.

We really did pass the ball a lot! Laughed at the team announcer reading out 'tony hilbert'

Kone gave me a wink and Baines a smile when I told him to tell the manc tramps to do one.

All good

Gibson was outstanding last night. Highlighted how much our team will miss him tho when he's out injured! Need a back up in simlar molde as him.

Thought our style of play/passing was very good also. We seemed to play a propper 4-2-3-1 aswell, which really suited the passing style. Gibson and Fellaini side by side is a very strong partnership. Osman was the weak link just in front, a quality No.10 there would really make us lethal. Maybe between Osman (who is better than last night) and Barkley we can find the answer to that No.10 role. Maybe even pienaar a option there.

On the wings, I really think mirallas needs to play from the left. Deulofeu as much of a prospect he looks IMO will be offering his talents from the bench. Naismith and guaye are not good enough and should be moved on, allowing us to sign another winger with quality, someone like Moses would be perfect.

Upfront is all still a bit undecided yet. Vellios has looked better than I thought, vic is vic and will never be more than an impact sub IMO, jelavic (who I think will be sold) and kone yet to be seen yet.

Good all round Pre season game IMO. Still a couple of quality players short IMO.

Most distincitive thing for me in the two games is the split centre backs with a DM dropping in and FBs pushing on when we have the ball. That is basically 3 at the back - massive change in our system right there.
REal Madrid played like that under Mourinho b) the one dropping deeper was Alonso.

gibson - outstanding, fellaini- very composed + solid, mirallas& oviedo- exciting, joel - er did he do anything?, alcaraz- solid calm, anichebe- still undecided, velios- looked hungry which is nice. overall it was what it was, a run out and fitness test, the team performed not to bad for this stage of pre season.

It was nice to see them trying to play football and not many hoofs of note. I only saw the 2nd half but the majority of our play was 2 touch football. I thought Ossie struggled with this and I thought he would be the one most comfortable with it. Can see a few up and downs next season as we continue to adapt but it is the way forward and in time RM will also sign players to suit his style. I am very optimistic and pleased that we are looking to be a footballing team.
