Where has the accessibilty buggy gone Everton Football Club? Why are people with mobilty issues having to walk to the ground from a mile away as they cant be dropped off nearby like at Goodison? Why are people who struggle, having to walk round the whole outside of the stadium because no temp wheelchairs are availible & the accslessibility buggy is inoperable and why are they having stand in Queues for the lifts instead of having perch benches or some seats to sit on whilst waiting to get in?
The new stadium is magnificent & a lot bigger than Goodison and only accessible from one road on one side, unlike Goodison...but we are stil the Peoples Club & with state of the art facilities being built, surely we had the oppourtunity to future proof the grounds to help an increasingly aging population of supporters...who cares if you know other clubs that also make their fans walk miles...we should aim higher....Nil Satis Nisi Optimum...we should be inclusive & forward thinking in making football easy to get to for ALL fans...the ground/stands should be Accessible For All.
We can do better!
I have a solution.....for a start, at the very least we could have one road leading down to the ground set up as an American school style drop off situation for people to drop off their family & friends with mobility issues , drive/queue down one side, drop off and drive back up the other..could start as just cars only byt if successful expand to.taxis, mini buses & cars (no coaches or buses).
