This stemmed from me showing that Carlo had a winless run without Doucoure. Its an interesting statistic, one that a few managers haven't been able to figure out.

Lampard figured it out and managed to get some wins without him. Seeing as Dyche is so much better than Lampard I have faith in him being able to crack this conundrum, do you?

Good to see. Hopefully he works it out soon, because we’ve just played the worst team in the entire league and he didn’t appear to have cracked it then sadly.

We don’t have any who can do both though, Gana does all his best work without the ball.

N’golo Kante made a career out of his off the ball work. Footy is about different skillsets at the end of the day. The way our midfield is balanced we either need a three in there or Doucoure needs to play.

Gana/Mangala/Iroegbhunam all seem to chase the ball too often and Garner never convinced in a 2.

No one will convince in a 2 as teams sussed out how to play against a flat 4-4-2 (or 4-4-1-1 in our case) about 20 years ago.

N'golo Kante can control and pass a ball though.

Yeah it was literally the same team with JUST Doucoure missing, don't you know.

I don't think Doucore missing had any bearing on this week's result. In fact, last week we should have lost with him. He played a bigger part in the other ones, but we just lost form and need to get back on track. What we actually need is to score goals (and get Jarrad integrated back into the team ffs). Our front 3 and Dom just haven't gotten it done the past 2 games. Dom needs a benching in particular. He just isn't getting it done atm.

I changed my opinion on Lampard. I was all in on him, but by the end I was furious that he wasn’t sacked 3 weeks before he actually was.
