Makes you wonder what Ancelotti was doing last season. It seems the players played the way Ancelotti wanted. What we witnessed was Ancelotti football, it wasn’t a mistake.

The same players are capable of much more. Doucoure has far more to his game than he was allowed to show last season.

I’m glad we’re back to fast attacking football. Keep your tippy tippy possession stuff. It’s awful to watch without the right personnel, slow and ponderous.

I always felt Doucoute was asked to play deeper to accommodate James’ laziness. Which is fine, if James had played 40 games or more.
Only thing with Doucoure he just looks a bit lost in and around the box.
Almost a good goal today but did anybody else kind feel his ‘what do I do’ moment where he could have maybe tried to give Richy a tap in.
Just doesn’t fill me with confidence at decision making. Love him tho. Easy player to love who does basics well, puts himself about

Think we can all see he needs to be part of a midfield 3 to get the best out of him and allow him push forward.
The game changed as soon as Gomes came on and allowed him to get forward more.
