Sadly I think Gomes will be a peripheral figure now. He has ability no doubt but not sure he’s ever going to be a consistent performer.

Gomes and Gbamin on the bench would be ideal as it means we never have to watch Siggurdsson or Davies again unless we have an injury crisis.

I just think we still need a wide player with pace who can cause the opposition problems.

For me that left hand side is a mish mash with not one player good enough to be considered an out and out starter.

If we can offload Bernard and even try get Gordon or Iwobi a loan move it would open the door for that player to come aboard.

I'd like him to be playing for us regularly, but if he's getting limited minutes he's better off going and playing week in week out somewhere and coming back a better player.

Pros and cons to a loan but wouldn't be against it.

I think there are more loan failures than successes. It didn’t work for Pennington or Dowell. Ross Barkley loans were rotten as well.

I just dont think he's good enough at present to start games week in week out if we are serious about aiming for Europe therefore what good is it for him to be sat on the bench getting 10-15 minutes each week on the pitch?

Same argument I have with Kean - the club has a weird fetish of stockpiling young players either in the squad or in the under 23's and the only ones we loan out are the ones deemed not good enough long term.

Had Davies gone out on loan 2 seasons ago I think you would have a different player than the one we have now.

Personally think Gomes starts in the middle with Allan and Doucoure with Rodriguez pushed further forward with Richarlison and Calvert-Lewin.

I think this will happen too. We set-up in a 3 man midfield against Blackpool, I think that suggests we'll be moving to more of a 433 / 4312, otherwise why do it?

Will be interesting to see how we set-up the midfield tomorrow even if the new signings aren't playing

I think we've dropped the ball on this one, with the euphoria of actually tracking Allans plane, and the near misses of Rodriguez's, we didn't keep and eye on Doucoure, he's prob been at Finch farm all morning and we never knew.
