The 15th April 1989 is a date that is instantly recognisable amongst football fans. On this date nineteen years ago... 15 year old Kevin Williams was just one of the ninety six football fans who was tragically killed at Hillsborough, a football stadium in Sheffield.

The day started will all the delight and excitement of an FA Cup semi-final but which ultimately ended with ninety six football fans losing their lives, for the support of their club.

I remember the event happening. Tragic day for everybody on Merseyside. I was only 10 years old when it happened, but my most lasting memory was being in Liverpool Cathedral with my uncle, and he took us straight to the area set up in memorial and as he read the book with everybodies names, tears started seeping from his eyes.

This the man that my dad is telling us to stay close too, as he was a tough one. Crying. Made a mark that has lasted ever since on me.

RIP the 96 souls who lost their lives that day.

Such a sad loss my mate kissed his kids goodbye little did he think it would be for the last time cut down at 33 .Fate is fickle three ordinary fans go to a match and stand together two are unharmed sadly Eric didn't the other two ?its wrong to say unharmed because something inside them changed that day.

R.I.P.

Its shocking to see how many of those were young men just at the start of their adult lives. Who knows where they would be now. Some even as young as 14/5. One who was ten. A horrible tragedy that should be remembered in the right way no matter which fans and which club it happened to. I hope people, both on this board and in the wider world, can stop using this as ammunition against LFC and its fans.

I will never forget that day. My cousin and I happily walked to his car in the vecinity of Villa Park and turned on the radio. we drove back to birkenhead in silence.
A fair few cousins, several friends and lots of aquaintances went to Hillsborough that day. Fortunately, all returned. Sadly, they couldn't all say the same as I.
Personally, I'm an atheist. But I truly hope I'm wrong and that the 96 souls who went to watch their team get to the cup final (As I did), are in a better place.

The list still shocks me even now..when you look at the ages of those poor souls all you can see is the difference in ages..sadly death had no age barier that day and may they never be forgotten.
