I don't care who you are.

You've got to admit that going from 17th to 4th the next season was a phenomenal achievement. Everyone was predicting a relegation scrap after that year and all we do is get a chance to play in Europe.

Doesn't happen often that.

I thought you had lost your faith in Moyes, TX?

Moyes was a defeated man start of this season... As somebody else touched on his style of play, talk going into matches ect up to January was a man sending out a message of look what happens if you sell ur best players and dont bring players in.

I don't agree with those who claim moyes won't play attacking football. He does, but he'll only do it if he has faith in the players to play that way successfully. Otherwise he'll play as we did early season awful to watch but would of kept us in the PL.

He seems a bit dammed if he does dammed if he doesn't tbh..

He tells it like it is ie early season gunfight stuff (which I believe was pure frustration over transfers) he gets slaughtered for it
Or
He he says we will go with what we got accepts it and still gets slaughtered for not saying anything about the poor hand the board are dealing us all!

You can't openly **** off your board/employers. Moyes early season comments and way we played was a perfect subtle way of trying to open the eyes of the board.

I like moyes.. He's been great in the main. Is he perfect No! Does he have the tools to show how good he could be No! Could we get better prob Not... Could we get worse most deffinately!

I grew up watching us in the 80's so it was heartbreaking to see our decline but one thing moyes has brought back to us is pride ! He seems to get what the club means to us and installs that in the players and its this togetherness which keeps us hovering around the top 6-7 when in reality we shouldnt be anywhere close ! There isnt a manager in the league who isnt critisised by his clubs fans as its natural for fans to want more but for me it'll be a sad day when moyse leaves us!

Considering the money moyes has had 7th this season is doing well, even though it means nothing to finish there, and id defo rather see us finish higher in the league than beating liverpool, derbys are a bonus and with the money they've spent compared to us we cant expect to beating them all the time, we've got to be realistic

After living through the ninety's I fully agree with this!

I beam from ear to ear everytime I see "7th place finish" and "pride" on our honours list.

Everton: Howard, Hibbert, Jagielka, Distin, Baines, Coleman (Drenthe 61), Rodwell, Fellaini, Pienaar, Stracqualursi (Osman 61), Anichebe (Jelavic 61). Subs not used: Mucha, Heitinga, Cahill, Neville.

Why are so many people expecting us to win trophies with no money?

Over the last 10 years the only "non rich" clubs to win cups in England are Portsmouth (FA Cup), Birmingham, Middlesbrough and arguably Spurs (League Cup).

So out of 20 cup trophies only 4 have been won by clubs without loads of money and Spurs are fairly rich compared to most clubs, so you could argue it's 3. Thinking about it boro were bank rolled by Gibsons money then so maybe you can't class them as not being wealthy at the time.

The Premier League has never been won by a team without serious amounts of money either.

I think having a go at Moyes for not winning trophies is harsh and unjustified. He's taken us to a cup final and 2 semi's and the last one we were really unlucky not to win.

You need as much luck as skill in cup runs and we were unlucky last year. I'm not exactly sure what some people expect us to achieve with no money.

I think Moyes has done an amazing job considering his lack of transfer funds. I don't think any other manager would have got us performing as well, consistently in the league.

I'm not saying he should of won a trophy, sure its hard and the fact the same teams have mostly won them shows that.

But in 10 years, 20 attempts at domestic trophies and 4 attempts at Europe he's reached 1 final. By my rough count 15 times have teams outside the top4 money teams have reached cup finals from this country in that timespan.

Add to that teams who reached semis and his record isn't that great.

Add further to that the times we lost to far inferior teams from lower leagues and it gets worse.

Sure, if you want to blame all that on no money go right ahead. I prefer to look at a teams worth in the quality of players it has rather than the size of its price tags.

Being able to beat any of the top sides at home and regular top 8 finishes meant he assembled a very good side regardless of how much money he spent.

But his didn't get those teams performing in the cups as well as he did in the league.

Again, yeah its been tough to win a trophy but sides have shown it to be possible and i'd say we stood the best chance of winning a trophy of teams from outside the top 4.

But we didn't and some of that blame has to go to Moyes.

You making sense will not change people's opinions. Apparently, even though we are skint we are supposed to be in the Champs League consistently and challenging for all manner of trophies. The reality? Moyes has done an excellent job on a lean budget and people just cannot face the truth.

We need money to bring in players to challenge the bigger clubs. We don't have that, yet there are still complainers. Until we get some investment Moyes can only do so much.
