It's not that I think Moyes is the best manager who ever lived and nobody else could do what he could do, it's just that after the 17th season and losing Rooney and half the squad in the summer I think we needed a manager who was already bedded into the club. Bringing in somone new then would have been too much change at once.

And what Moyes accomplished that season was utterly remarkable.

I remember when we had Cahill and Yakubu upfront and Pienaar and Arteta in the same side, some of the football then was brilliant.
