48 years ago today.

I was there and before The Latch finally got his 30th goal, I think Mick Lyons scored a header from a cross that was destined for Bob's head and the crowd started booing ! 😂
Mick Lyons scored the fifth with Latch screaming at him to head it across for him to have a tap in... and yeah, the crowd booed ML.

My brother and I were stood on the Gwladys Street and when Bob netted the 30th, I lost my shoes in the pandemonium that broke out... got 'em back eventually :)

Today, marks the anniversary of Bob Latchford completing his 30 goal task in the last match against Chelsea, winning 6-0. For those who were present, what do you recall of that day?

I remember being directly behind the goal when the pen went in for his third and nearly getting crushed to death 😂

It was in the days, when you’re dad would go with his mates in one end and you’d go in the end that you liked best, so my dad was nowhere around to rescue me !

We were in the Park End. It kicked off between our lot and the Chelsea fans and the coppers made us get out as we were kids. They put us in the Bullens enclosure and we were gutted. Then, he did it, and almost everyone ran on to the pitch. We ended up in the Street End. So we watched the game from 3 enclosure ha ha. Magic day. I loved our Bob and I still do. Footy is boring now.

My first season going to the match. Very hazy memories. I remember being impressed with the Chelsea fans still singing at 6-0 down and the absolute bedlam when the penalty went in

What a match that was! Everyone went bonkers when Big Bob scored. I remember looking down when everything had settled and seeing a nice Seiko Divers watch on the ground. I thought "That'll do me". Still have it somewhere to this day.

That's why I wear my cheapest Casio to the match.

Guessing your over 60 mate,?
We are very fortunate us lads over 60 (you are just a whipersnapper Matty) we have actually seen us constantly win things with a very good team indeed. I just wish them days would come back for all the younger Blues and especially for my 2 lads who are both in there 20's !!
