Because we can't keep the ball with 5 in midfield, let alone 4

Well it'd be 4 4 1 with Sandro gone to Sevilla.

Successive managers have felt we need 5 in midfield because we're crap.

Modern coaches have ruined what used to be quite a simple game with all these fancy formations. 4-4-2 would be a good formation with the right personel, which unfortunately would require a left back who could defend.

I’ve actually wondered whether we need to go down this route.

I understand what people are saying about the extra man in midfield, but the simple fact is it ain’t doing us an awful lot of good. Seeing as we can’t seem to pass the ball anyway, and have no creativity, I wonder if just playing percentage football with 2 up top might actually help us keep the ball better and give the opposition a bit more to think about.

All the more reason to bypass the midfield, go long and have an extra body up front to battle for it.

Yeah just read that he has gone back to Spain on loan.

Should have loaned him out to an English club. At least we would be able to see how he plays ffs.

No English club wanted to take him as he has been abysmal in England...

Look, can we not pretend that Sandro and Klaassen would be our saviours?

I rate both of them but it hasn't worked, unfortunately.

I'm hoping that they both come back and make an impact under a new manager next season, but I'm doubtful.

Sandro will probably do really well for a Sevilla side that's playing some great stuff atm.
