Hmmm, not sure about that. The defenders are very average indeed. Rüdiger, Raum, and Schlotterbeck are bomb scares. Who's getting the goals? Undav seems about as prolific as any of their strikers. As for bringing back Neuer, I think that's an indictment. He was magnificent in 2014, but has declined significantly since. It's a slightly desperate move. Then there's the likes of Leroy Sane, Leon Goretzka and Joshua Kimmich. Serial failures for the national side. Kimmich, at least, is a good player. Sane is a waste of space, a total show pony who will you leave you down when in need of a bit of clinical finishing. Leon would make a politician I could vote for.Germany squad actually pretty decent
Yeah there are some weaknesses there but I think they can put out a decent first 11Hmmm, not sure about that. The defenders are very average indeed. Rüdiger, Raum, and Schlotterbeck are bomb scares. As for Musiala, I'm not sure he's developed a brain in the last four years. Magnificent close control, but does he have the smarts? I do like Lennart Karl, mind.
All that said, it's a squad that if well coached could still make a semi-final. We're going to learn a lot about Nagelsmann over the coming six or seven weeks...
Germany squad
I think you'll find there'll be no defence at all come the action on the pitch...It's somehow very German to divide outfield players only into 'offensive' and 'defensive'.
There is no middle ground.
I shall cheer on Senegal then. (And Sweden)
Germany seldom have celebrity players, but usually put a decent team together. They're like the opposite of England in that regard.Crap squad that.
