2026 FIFA World Cup

On a serious note, I wonder how the orange blimp will handle this, if there`s still unrest during the weeks leading up to and including the world cup ?

I hope the whole thing blows up in his and Infantino`s face.
Imagine the chaos attacking an event could unleash. There'll be national guard, ice tit-heads, coast guard, the shriners, and the boy scouts of america armed to the teeth and brainwashed with 'security'* the goal on all streets. Parts of Mexico are currently on fire, and the commander and chief keeps picking fights with Canada.

The previous world cup was bad, this is gearing up to surpass it.

From what I`m reading, it appears that the gangs aren`t targetting tourists and just going at the authorities.

However, as we all know, all it would take is for Trump and his goons to get involved and things could change direction very rapidly.

If I was FIFA, I`d be starting to get a bit concerned, as the first game is only a few months away now.

I hope that phrase doesn't bite you in the arse.

Of all the places the world cup has been in recently with all the controversies, who'd a thunk it that this one is likely to be the worst.

Ay carumba.

Can’t help but wonder if the pressure from the US to take this fella out had a considered upside / side effect for them of relocating the Mexican games to USA…… Seems a very strange time to have done it given the history of what generally happens in the aftermath of these operations.

Maybe the Mex Gov were trying to agree a truce and that cartel just wasn’t having it 🤷🏻‍♂️

I think tourists have always been a no-go for the cartels due to tourism (and shaking down tourism related businesses) being such a big earner for them.

That said, with my tin-foil hat on head, you have to wonder why the US intel services have chosen now to tip off the Mexican authorities on El Menchos location?
You could have easily predicted that his capture or, in this case, death would cause havoc.
It's almost as if that was the plan, so FIFA will have to move games to 'safer' locations in the US and Dementia Don can tell us all how he '"saved the World Cup"
