"it was the best of times, it was the worst of times"

A tale of two halves. A season that promised so much petered out into nothingness.
Threatening the European places brought so much hope, and then the obligatory disappointment.

Mushy Pea face Angus has beguiled no one with his letter to the fans.

It seems they are sticking with Moyes, if so he needs putting in his place instead of thinking he can run the club like Putin where no one dare question him.

Well to some extent yes, obviously that's how it works.

It's probably also worth noting that you haven't stumbled on some amazing new zen philosophy by constantly telling everyone how absolutely not bothered you are about us being rubbish. It takes me the same amount of time to type a post saying we've been crap as it does for you to type one saying everything's great. I (and I assume the huge majority of people on here) will 'shut off' in the same way as you. I'm not consumed by a rage that ruins every waking second every time we lose, I'm just capable of deciding whether I was happy with what I saw or not before I comment on it.

Apologies if that is how it came across. Certainly not trying to be any kind of 'I know better than you'. Never said it is zen or anything new, but that is how I am right now and thought it was pertinent to put the reasoning and context to my opinion of the season, as a whole.

Mine is just an opinion, not right or wrong. I can certainly see why people see things are bad at the moment and it has not been a great season, I think differently. Not that it is great, just the ups and downs cancel each other out, whereas previous seasons there were very little ups, if any. That may be a better way to put how I see this season, that it is a glass half full way of looking at it.

No relegation fight..yet the aggro is same level.
Unfortunately it's a 5.5 ,6.
It was a great chance to get top 4,imo.
But nobody knew that last August.
Maybe blame the analysts at the club also.

I did mention that it might be more 6.5, maybe even 6.

I think to be in the top half for most of the season and to disappointingly drop down to the same position as last season is a little more healthy than being in a very real relegation scrap and dragging ourselves away.

It is fine lines, a penalty given against City and/or West Ham would see us in the top half and with a decent shot at Europe, and suddenly your 4 is more a 6. It is all small ifs and buts that have decided the position in the league this year. For me, it is not a stretch to say that there has been a contentment about this season and that is a good thing. Fingers crossed that, whatever the final league position we can build on it.
Every team in the league can argue that a few fine margins would have improved their results.

An ex Everton player turned manager winning the league the night the club revel in our ‘great escape’ against Palace

Honestly just sick and tired of the mediocrity. Being told over and over again that stability is the key. Can’t be arsed battling 10th-14th every year with the likes of Fulham and Brighton

Spurs and West Ham winning European titles in recent years. Palace and Villa in finals this week. Newcastle ending their trophy drought

Just ending the season with little to no hope at all. Unless something massively changes in the Summer we’re just making up the numbers.
