Can’t find any stats thread. It’s fun to look at but reading too much into it will skew the perception of the game.

I’ll start with Allan

top 5 tackle in the league, top 3 when it comes to midfielder: current count stands at 21 in 7 games.

only behind willock(Newcastle) and kucka(watford). 23 and 22 respectively.

we will struggle to find balance and shape without Allan.

doucoure is 11th with 19 in 7. His partnership with Allan is the second best in the league.

top tackling midfield combination goes to Newcastle. Willock and longrstaff. 22, 21.

Let’s compare our new signings to siggy and hamez

siggy average last season: 0.8
Hamez: 1.2

Townsend: 1.9

It’s clear our defensive work improved significantly and much more balance. This is crucial, without winning the ball, we can’t counter.

I know it’s obvious even without stats, but a few interesting observation.

Allan did better defensively last season, which is a surprise.

Doucoure defensive stats improve even though he is asked to play a more advance role.
