Is that genuine, £1.8m?!. What are we playing at exactly?. Sissoko is quality and im pretty sure he wouldnt demand daft wages either?!!.

For £1.8M surely we should go for him but I am surprised that no other club (like Arsenal) is interested.

Maybe Moyes doesn't think Sissoko is good enough? Or maybe he thinks he could use the money better elsewhere? Or maybe he wanted to go to Newcastle because of the French contingency? Or maybe they offered him daft wages which we were never going to pay? Or maybe we never wanted him in the first place.

If there's one thing Moyes is good at it's picking up good players for little money.

If Gibson is out then Neville and Osman play CM (who have a combine age of 67 years old). We can't rely on these two (Soton game for example) so we have to sign younger CM and add quality to the squad.

How about Moussa Sissoko? Do you think he is crap also? He is available for 1.8 million pounds only.

I think N'Zonzi at Stoke is just as good, and our midfields combined age is irrelevant, Shneiderlain had a bloody blinder, we do have a decent DM being played out of position right now, for the life of me can't remember his name.

I rethink a bit, you're probably right. If he is that good I am sure Arsenal will make a bid.

Wages was the first thing that screamed out at me. Especially after them signing Goufrann. Arsenal passed on him because of his £80k a week wage demands.

This all reminds me of the utter fume I felt in 2009, when I wasnt as "aware" of things as I am now.

We had been heavily linked with Lorik Cana, he ticked all my boxes, he was BOSS on FM, he had an ace YouTube vid and it was said he was a bit of a hardman.

I had never seen him play, but his name "rang out", he then signed for Sunderland for a mere £5m, I was uttely fuming, I mean we had lost out to SUNDERLAND?

But the reality was, he was a bit gash, a total pussycat and most of all, we had never once even been interested in him.

He played quite average for a Year and was shipped off to Gala in Turkey.

All the glitters, is not gold lads.

Well if that's true then that would break our wage structure, which I would only advocate doing if a special player came along at the right price, it can cause all kinds of problems. That's often the case with players going out of contract or free transfers, he's possibly got himself a nice little signing on fee, and with the combined wages and transfer fee over the course of the contract maybe it won't look a particularly cheap after all.

EDIT: Are you talking Gouffran's wages or Sissoko's? Either is ridiculous though really.

Haha yeah I remembered that, I was fuming at the time too. I moaned after he signed for the mighty Sunderland.
