Derby county 07/08 finished - points 11, GD -69

We're ahead here, so we won't get the record.

Sunderland 05/06 finished - points 15, GD -43
If we can just lose one nil its -19 to our already -11 GD so although a grand total of 15 points is the same, we get third worst premier league side in history on GD. (just -30)

Result. We can all hold our heads up high. Happy days.

Just had a look on soccerbase.

For 94/95 it was 4 points from the first 12 games! Then for next 7 games 15 points were picked up and incredibly a run of 7 clean sheets as Royle came in. Probably won't have managed 7 clean sheets by this time next year even if in the championship.

I also remember 05/06. After the CL robbery at Villareal it seemed an endless run of 1-0 defeats for about three months.

Again after 9 games it was just 4 points but then in next 8 team rallied and picked up 13 points so that was a marginally better situation if not great (and it was then a really poor xmas).

Ended up with 8 home wins in the end so similar to last season.

Think that shows is teams can have a poor first 10 games but significantly pick up after.

Big problem this season is team has significantly declined in all areas after the 10th game this season which was the defeat at Spurs.

Well if we are as good in the next 19 as we have been in the first 19 then we could double our points tally to 30.

Id say to stay up 37 minimum, so we need 7 wins and a draw, but i cant see where they come from
