Forty-Eight... we've not demonstrated a capacity or consistency for more, over this season. Maybe some adults will surprisingly enter the room at the 11th hour.
Yup. How many points? Not enough is the short answer.
We had a great win on Saturday against a team that
David Moyes told us all in November was way out of our league. We knew he was dissembling then and that was proven at the weekend. The team that was way better than us, apparently, was below us in the league on both occasions we have played them this term. We have also beaten them on two of the last three times we've met them. But that's a self-installed glass ceiling for you courtesy of
Moyes Glazers: Putting a lid on it since 2002.
Burnley is a must-win - no excuses. But we've been here so many times before. Until this manager and his team demonstrates proven ability to beat inferior sides at home, everyone should be skeptical. The away form is brilliant, but the inability to set up a team at home will hole us under the bow. I think it already has as the away form cannot reasonably be expected to continue. The run of home disasters against Brentford, Wolves, Bournemouth, and Leeds has killed us. Whatever about losing to United, the capitulations to Spurs and Newcastle look even more bizarre now that we know both of those sides are mediocre at best (being kind to Spurs).
But a win tomorrow gives us a chance to endure another false dawn which will remain false unless we can start beating like likes of Liverpool and Chelsea at home to make up the lost ground.
