There is another way of looking at it

Do you
a) go and spend 50 quid on a top that you will wear at least once a week all season, perhaps next season, and keep forever, but feel like you've been royally ripped off (even though you've just spent 80 quid on a nice shirt for going out in that you might wear 10 times a year)
b) go and spend 50 quid getting p1ssed in town, wake up with a stonking hangover, yet feel like the money you spent was for a legitimate reason
c) not spend 50 quid on getting p1ssed that week and buy the top instead meaning you are no less out of pocket and don't have a hangover that week
d) buy the top, feel cr@p about getting ripped off so go and get hammered to forget about being ripped off

I can't afford to do any of them, mate.

Even tho the fans will be ripped off but hey at long at the players have their cars and houses, we have to pay their wages somehow.

Haha well that is true, but at the same time everyone is complaining about the club having no money. I'd like to see the kids shirts be priced a bit cheaper tho as I'd say it's good for growing new fans.

There is other ways of making money then ripping of their own fans.

I don't go out spending £50 on ale, or a shirt for going out in.

So looking at it in terms that are relevent to myself, it's feckin expensive.

here's a simple equation

3 weeks in Italy with flights = full kits for the kids

or

full kits for kids = no family holiday

I hear you pal. Things are expensive these days...just normal living. I don't buy the tops full price anymore, I wait for them to be reduced. I am passed that age when I need to have the new top for the new season.

My sister, who lives near Oxford, sent me this year's home shirt with my last name and 50 on the back -- I hit the half-century this Sunday. Lovely gesture, but I still had to pay about 20 quid in duty.

The duty thing is my concern, I would like to buy one or two shirts. But duty and taxes on it in Norway makes it really expensive.

Aye, I didn't buy one last season although I really liked the home one. I missed the sale on them. The vanilla 3rd kit from the season before was the last one I bought and it's starting to look a bit shabby.

I'll probably just wait until they reduce this one after Xmas, or see if someone buys me one for Xmas. It's really grown on me, this year's home shirt. Hated it when I first saw it as well.
