He's not average. But if you don't just take stats at face value and try to examine him as player in greater detail, there are two notable points for me. He's a standout player in a poor team, definitely capable of stepping up. However when you look at the number of assists from set pieces and his crosses, swanseas game plan should be clear to see- get the ball to him and swing it in to the big man up top which was llorente. That's the narrative here. It's the same reason his shots from outside the area are so high- at Swansea if there was no ball to llorente who exactly else would you bother passing to? Might as well have a pop.
He can deliver with quality, no doubt about it, but we'll need the big man up top for it to be most effective. All signs point to us going for a player of that ilk and if that's our main route to scoring goals and if it wins us games so be it. I'd hope for a bit more from a top 7 team personally.
