That was the only game my dearly departed dad and I attended together. He went into the Park End were he knew the Rovers fans would be and I went onto the Goodison Road terrace. A largely undistinguished game, but the performance of Jim Cumbes in the Rovers goal kept the score down.

    Summer Transfer Window 2019

The current batch of Belgian players. Is this their golden generation? KDB, Hazard, Courtois, even Lukaku, are just on their way down from their best. If Batshuayi was hailed as the new breed but he's turned out cack. I hope we're not blinded by the Belgian tag, pretty much as we were when...

A massively intense game that. Full on. Didn't Ratcliffe, complete with moustache, get sent off towards the end?

Varadi took the ball around the keeper earlier but missed the goal. Frustrating player to say the least.

Siggy should have had a bagful. BTW he was a miserable sod yesterday.

Just had my first chance to see the game highlights on TV. A full half hour of it as I was in the gym, no soundtrack, just from the wall mounted screens. I could hardly believe my eyes. Such a one sided game which everyone agrees should have been won by more than the one goal. Well done to them...

Too true with the platforms. The como shoes were the most comfy as well.

Picture this. An almost orange corduroy jacket with a pair of light green parallel kecks and black como shoes complete with a lookalike Ben Sherman shirt. What a mess.

Certainty were. A whole array of premises just outside the city centre retail area.

Not footie related, but looking at the pic takes me back fifty years and more. The street leading up at an angle contained a warehouse where my mam was able to cash her Sturla's cheque and kit me out in clothes. Not the best quality or choice but it was the only way I got new clothes on my back.

Hope theres no lurkers about but like the sad sack I am I get the Rotterdam 85 DVD out now and then and any of the younger fans who didn't see him play would see an absolute masterclass from a massively underated player in his prime.

If I'm right his demise started when he was seriously injured trying to exact retribution on Big Billy Whitehurst who had just seen Reid having to leave the field of play after a tackle. Whitehurst was one of those players who's skill was based purely on physical power.

I am not exaggerating when I say I absolutely hate it when we play. After 56 years I still go through dying a thousand deaths whenever we're on the pitch. Must be some sort of deep seated masochism.

There's no doubt the last two weekends have been rather enjoyable for me not fretting over what the team are doing.

Not big big trouble for sure. In a predicament most certainly. Using the old 40 points for safety yardstick at this time I can't see where 7 points are coming from. But just looking at tonight's fixtures gives an illustration why I reckon 3 maybe 4 more points will do ithe and that's possible...
