Not that there's any reason to relitigate this but Godfrey really wasn't any good his first season. Which is what makes this comparison so apt for me. As I've said I'm really hoping the traits he has develop into a real player. However right now things like composure are just traits.

I would just be very surprised if either was a high level player. I think they'll be around the PL for awhile but mostly bottom half.

I think there's a decent player in a fair few of them. Gray, McNeil, Dom, Iwobi, Onana, Patterson maybe, Mina. But no one is actually a high level player unfortunately. Garner is fine. I struggle to see him being more.

No but I'm pretty lukewarm. He reminds me a bit of Mykolenko in that I'm just not really sure what the higher level version of his game would even be. I don't see anything that he's awesome at I guess. But I can't write anyone off playing in this current mess of a situation.

He's been alright. I think a lot of people continue to try to make him the guy they hope he'll be though. He's not really shown a ton.

I don't think McNeil is any good mate I'd just like to see us try something that might work instead of the things we have seen over those 140 games be awful. I'm just as willing to move him to LB but we were smacking ourselves silly over Mykolenko and the backline in general only a month or so...

Yes in fact it is actually different as they are all different players. Can you just tell me what it is Garner is meant to do so in the event he plays again I can look out for it?

What's he do then? The last time we saw him he was completely below the level on display in a game between our sorry team and Bournemouth. I'm just not sure why anyone thinks he should be playing or that playing him would fix anything. It's a complete Lucas Leiva situation.

Garner isn't good at anything

Onana did more today and he wasn't even that good.

He doesn't do anything. Hopefully he can find his feet but I just don't see any reason to be playing him right now.

I'm not writing him off but I just don't really see why he'd start games right now. His time will come.
