For all the hype, Garner looks like he’s got more about him than Onana at this point. Doesn’t have the physical gifts but more involved and better passer.

It just shows you how bad our finances are - getting blown out the water, unable to compete with a newly promoted team for a player just finished a loan in the championship. Would have been a great signing, attacking creative central midfielder would make a huge difference to this squad.

Just noticed he really snapped into the tackle strong on the edge of the box to win the ball, starting the move for the 2nd goal.

Not missing Onana in there which is surprising given all the hype about Onana - Garner’s got good balance to his game, puts a foot in and can pass it when he gets it…which is a bonus for a midfielder!

We’ll never get to see it but Garner and Onana would compliment each other well with a good attacking/creative midfielder playing with them in a three. For his first start thought he was solid without anything truly spectacular. Shame he missed so much of the season not really seen enough of him.

Think he needs to be in team Saturday - the press with Simms and Gray was non existent against United. Get back to 3 in midfield with either Gray or Simms upfront obvs DCL if fit enough. Could use his set piece delivery as well.

Depends what Dyche is seeing in training and who has the attributes he wants. We’ve seen Lampard liked Iwobi in centre mid but he didn’t like Doucoure there - Dyche has flipped that and likes the attributes of Doucs and given him an important role in the middle. Dyche I suspect couldn’t care...

Been a bit of a wasted season for him, joined us unfit and had to get up to speed, bit part appearances then the big injury, back with only ten games of the season left. Would have liked to have seen more of him.

Thought he won the ball well a few times and made a great interception in the box to deny them really good chance. Didn’t get on the ball enough to do much in possession.

I’d start him next game with gana and one of Iwobi or Onana. Iwobi Onana as two number 8’s not working, neither one getting close enough to the forward, creating enough or giving a scoring threat - more chance to do that with Gana and Garner behind them.
