That 6 anchor role is exactly where Onana played all his career and plays for Belgium
Mindblown why Lampard and Dyche wanted to "improve his all round game" in the box to box role last season -- just use him in the correct position ffs.
I think if it would help him get into the full England team then it would make sense. But for us he walks into midfield alongside Onana.
That depends on what youre trying to achieve of course.
It also depends on how high his ceiling could be in either role...e.g a very good midfielder or one...
Ive seen it all now.
A right back doesnt fit his own position lol
When Patterson played this year he was voted in the top 3 performers every single game.
Coleman certainly was not, not by a long shot and was nowhere close to being superior to a fit Patterson.
You want a 24 year old Irish...
Makes sense and I was thinking about Garner on the right (somewhat bizarrely) before he played there for us. But only musing about how David Bentley and David Beckham were used there and whether it may give Garner more space to dicate the play and provide through balls.
Garner had strong goal...
For me, I'll be happy if we went with those player but bringing in replacements for Iwobi and DCL.
Plus 2 squad players loan/cheap at DM and LB.
Garner has to play with Onana and there has to be quality in front of them.
I think going into the season with Patterson and Coleman is high risk. Coleman could be finished any moment and Patterson keeps picking up injuries.
Garner has shown he could play there so perhaps we bring in a midfielder (which we need) to develop and if there are RB issues Garner can move...
I think the midfield should be setup in one of two ways...
1: Onana + Garner in a double pivot with a new attacking midfielder / playmaker signed to play ahead of them.
2: Onana as DM and Garner as right sided central midfielder with a left sided central midfielder needed.
I see him like an...
Levi Colwill
Both he and Lampard said it as theyve been using Onana box to box when hes a midfield anchor for Belgium and always has been that type of DM.
They said it was to improve his all round game. Dyche also said something about "on the continent they assign players positions when theyre...
It will be interesting to see where Dyche plays him. He seems to enjoy playing people out of position.
We all see him as a Centre mid but it makes you wonder how good he might be as a right back or right midfielder...
Copy/paste. I can see it in dark mode.
Imagine having a playmaker in...
