Got the job done with 3 of our starting 11 out (Coleman, DCL & Richarlison), plus lack of depth on the bench.

Doucoure did well in midfield, we looked pretty solid at the back and controlled Norwich’s attack when we didn’t have the ball. Gray again our most exciting player and it was nice to see Dobbin show little flashes when he came on.

Anthony Gordon, Tom Davies and Lewis Dobbin three academy graduates on at the end; even if they don’t make it at Everton, it’s this type of exposure to first team football that allows us to sell for fees to reinvest in the first team, as most well run Premier League teams do.

Good start to the season!

Completely dire yesterday but luckily playing 10minutes of the game saved us.

That Norwich team might be even worse than the one that got relegated two seasons earlier. They looked like a lower tier championship team. It wasn’t they didn’t try, but they just aren’t very good at football.

We still let them have too much of the ball, and that might be our downfall if we let that happen too much this season.

Doucoure with another big performance. He’s changed under Rafael.

Considering our missing personnel a decent 3 points. Thankfully we didn't let them score first where we might have had a serious struggle on our hands, even against a side of that quality. Keeps us thereabouts 'till the return of the injured. The type of match where we might have dropped points the second half of last season. Don't Norwich look absolutely awful though.
We had to win this. We're not injured enough to not beat this mess.

They're definitely worse. They lost Buendia who is a real PL player and replaced him with a bunch of nothing. Plus Krul is older and worse and so is Hanley.

I don't think we were dire though. Not great no doubt but also mostly not threatened (again) and with enough chances to win it. OK so the penalty is doing heavy lifting again in our goal scoring but whatever if you can get a pen and take it well you're putting yourself in great shape. United know this. Up the diving blues!
