Any midfield that doesn't have Allan or Doucoure will always be terrible.

If we're gonna analyse it... we're playing a 4231, Rodriguez playing a free role/number 10. So leaving Davies and Gomes to win the ball back or dictate play is gonna be non existent. We all know this. Iwobi and Gordon doing okay on attack, but spend more time chasing to win the ball back. And Tosun is Tosun.

Olsen has been very good though.

A game that doesn't really tell us anything we don't already know.

The issue is we totally stepped off the gas after scoring. The intent should have been to go and get 2 more and get it wrapped up.
Complete lack of leadership at the back from Coleman and Keane as well.
Carlo will sort it but if not for Olsen we’d be level or behind.

again, that word - conviction. Too many of our players lack it.

The issue is that when it was clear they were gaining a foothold in the game 15-20 mins in, we didn't just do the professional thing, acknowledge and accept that we were losing control of it and then proceed to simplify things, at which point their leveller (running around a lot and taking advantage of our slow midfield) would be nullified and our technical superiority would win out again, whether we scored again or not. Instead, we tried to force everything and played directly into their hands.

Gomes in particular (as always) is the most culpable of the lot. Ego the size of Jupiter on him and will never accept that he might have to manage the game at the expense of a few ambitious passes or one less touch of the football. I really do hate watching him.
