here is how it ranks if the 9 million is right

Liverpool (Nike) - £85million-a-year

2. Manchester United (Adidas) - £75million-a-year

3. Manchester City (Puma) - £65m-a-year

4. Chelsea (Nike) - £60m-a-year

5. Arsenal (Adidas) - £60m-a-year

6. Tottenham Hotspur FC (Nike) - £30m-a-year

7. Everton (Hummel) - £9m-a-year

8. Bournemouth (Umbro) - £5m-a-year
Although it is a better deal than what we had, it is still small in comparison to the big 6

There's an additional top signing or a fair percentage of their wage bill covered by the deal, and people wonder why the top six have a monopoly.

Liverpool, United and Arsenal is also partly historic because of their perceived prestige around the world, hence why people buy more of their shirts.

We can't grumble that it's an improved deal, in fact the best we've had, but we are way off from where we need to be.

It’s really a top 5 and then Spurs are just a bit ahead of the rest.

So Utd and potentially RS will be making 7.5 times as much or more per year comparatively and the narrative is "well just wait another three years and we'll show um"...........

Considering the global attention the Premier League has right now........this is very depressing.......and while I know some on here are trying to put a positive spin on this take a look at some of the heavyweights Hummel have in their stable:

Chatanooga FC
Babelsberg 03
Odds Ballklubb
Elche  :(
League One giants Sunderland will be made by Nike next season if you gave our fans a choice we'd love Hummel back they made our best ever tops

small steps as you say its an improvement , if we have a bit of upturn on the pitch it will reflect off it in the future.

With £8-10m million a year from Hummel

Sportpesa was estimated £9.8m and Angry Birds was £1m, here's hoping we get a vast improvement on sponsorship next season.

The leap from us v Spurs (AIA - £35m) is far too vast so this needs addressing ASAP.

Regarding shirt sleeves, Man United receive £20m alone so we are lightyears away but we should be looking to get £2-3m per season.

In fairness, Liverpools deal is £30m plus 20% of what they sell (last season they sold about 70m worth of kits). That would mean £44m. In the context we are going into they'd do well to get more than 35m.

As for us, it looks like we might have incentives to get to 20m. However there are doubts whether we can hit them.

I don't get this line of thinking at all.

Adidas have loads of lower league clubs, Nike had Southend United until this season.

Why would we want to have the same kit provider is other clubs only not as good?

Nobody is buying an Everton shirt who is not an Everton fan.

Know what else stands out? You know all the clubs Hummel make kits for. The reason for that is they are not embarrassed to showcase who they provide kits for on their website. Compare that to Adidas or Nike, you will be hit over the head regarding the fact that they do kits for PSG, Bayern, Manchester United etc but that's it. Adidas' site doesn't even mention Leicester City for example.

The thing with Spurs is they've been playing CL the last few years. I'm sure that plays a massive role in getting more money from sponsors. until we are playing CL football or winning a cup it will take a while to close the financial gap

This is obviously the best we can get in the market right now. People can say we should be looking at higher but if no one is offering that’s it choice do we have? We need to improve our performances ok the pitch, regularly be in European competition, regularly going deep in cups, not getting humiliated every time we’re on Sky away at a top ground, and maybe then companies might think we’re worth more money.

Looking forward to seeing the new kits that Hummel provide, didn't think Umbro did to bad this time round, but looking forward to a change.

People complaining haven't got a leg to stand on tbf, until where in europe regularly, finishing higher up the table and reaching the later stages of competitions every season, where not going to get a deal close to the top 6. This deal is obviously the best one available or the club wouldn't of went with it.

Unless Usmanov starts a sportswear company where not getting anywhere close to £30m

Wasn't aware Liverpools deal include such a high percentage of merch sales profit, I think its Bayern Munich who have historically always had the highest percentage deal in europe but that eclipses theres, must be one of the best in football, and obviously worked out much better for them due to there recent success.
