In our position currently you can either take a lower amount from one of the top brands like Nike or Adidas or you can go for an outsider brand for more money.

Hummel offered us the most money and a huge increase on our previous deal. Given where we are financially I'm glad we took the option which made us the biggest earners after the Sky 6.

Until we start winning things or playing regularly in the Champions League then the bigger brands will see us as a lesser addition to their stable and we'd get the treatment that goes with that. We aren't Liverpool or Man Utd commercially. The club have done the right thing too only signing up until the stadium opens when we could hopefully be in a position to upgrade again.

I'll just be happy for a change and something fresh. We've had Umbro on and off since the stone age.

lets just plaster usmanov's face on our kit and call it a day

Really pleased with this deal. We are by far their biggest client and will want to make sure we look sharp to be the face of their brand. Plus it's a significant cash increase. Win-win!

So Utd and potentially RS will be making 7.5 times as much or more per year comparatively and the narrative is "well just wait another three years and we'll show um"...........

Considering the global attention the Premier League has right now........this is very depressing.......and while I know some on here are trying to put a positive spin on this take a look at some of the heavyweights Hummel have in their stable:

Chatanooga FC
Babelsberg 03
Odds Ballklubb
Elche  :(
here is how it ranks if the 9 million is right

3. Manchester City (Puma) - £65m-a-year

4. Chelsea (Nike) - £60m-a-year

5. Arsenal (Adidas) - £60m-a-year

6. Tottenham Hotspur FC (Nike) - £30m-a-year

7. Everton (Hummel) - £9m-a-year

8. Bournemouth (Umbro) - £5m-a-year

The city one is a bit misleading, because it covers most of the City teams around the world, in Australia, Spain, Uraguay and China. not just Manchester City in the premier league, but I would imagine the majority of the money goes to Man City.

The disparity of funding from shirt deals alone is depressing - even before you get to sky cash for their favourites or UEFA. It absolutely nails the ridiculous position in a sport that a top team will remain a top team. It is not a sport competition anymore it's a marketing one.

Theres no point kicking a ball at the start pf the season any more, absolutely no point, let alone paying to watch it.
