Everton Transfer Thread - Summer 2020

Mate who is a spurs fan sent me this, moaning about Levy. What is more telling is Everton at the top of that list. We all know how much deadwood we have to shift, but that table spells it out perfectly. Of course that’s before new contracts for Richarlison, DCL and Holgate. Until this figure is addressed don’t expect to see wholesale changes in the summer.

It's already been addressed though....every time we get extra sponsorship introduced by Mr Moshri and his friends the % of wages in relation to turnover decreases.

The £30 million naming rights alone mean that that figure is down at approx 72% now. That's before any other sponsorship deals, ie: new shirt sponsor, youth team kit sponsor are brought in to consdieration.

Are you happy with the Delph and Walcott signings?

Change the record mate!

We need experience and youth, at this moment we have no leaders or potential leaders on the pitch. Delph was brought in for this, hasn’t worked

Walcott, has improved under Carlo and offers better balance in the team, and will continue to offer something off the bench next season.

Are you happy with Moise Kean, Iwobi, Tom Davies this season?

Walcott has been an absolutely atrocious signing and a total liability and a last minute goal against Watford in a game he was absolutely terrible in doesn’t change that.

If our squad depth is still so poor next season that the likes of him are still being used regularly off the bench then we have once again failed and at that point may as well give up trying to be anything other than mid table.

Yes we need a mixture of experience and youth but if you look at the teams that succeed in finding that in the transfer window (Leicester and Wolves) they aren't signing players like Theo Walcott, Gylfi Sigurdsson or Alex Iwobi.

Surely its quite clear that we have the following options:

A: Sign players similar in age/profile to Delph who are 'affordable'

B: Sign young u21 players with world class potential like Richarlison or Kean

C: Sign u25 players with top potential for big money which we havent done so far i think...

D: Sign players in their prime for record fees the sigurdsson option

E: Sign random players and hope they magically become world class like Kante for leicester

Or a mixture...

I would say that the game thesedays really punishes teams with no pace which older players can lose overnight....

We were just schooled by an 18 year old and a 21 year old playing with Barkley...

Camavinga at Rennes just turned 17 and is a world class prospect performing well in the league, statistically better than Nzonzi who alot of posters wanted.

I would hope we go for one player like that (the kean option) and also Tonali (the Richarlison option).

Weve then got Gomes, Gbamin, Tonali, Camavinga, Davies which is a nice mix...that midfield would only improve...

Aren't they the same option?

Willian has always been a greater player than Walcott, and I don't think you're wrong that he would regress like Walcott has, but he's on a different level to those two and his late career move will be to a PSG/Juve and be a squad player while still in Champs League.

Id be after mcginn from villa think would be a great signing for the right price aswell as another cm really hope we can ship alot out this season
We would probably stand a chance of getting him as well if we move early enough. But we normally drag our feet, make our bid so its public knowledge and all the other clubs then here and we miss out on another transfer.

No, that was the old Everton transfer policy.

Nothing is public knowledge nowadays.
