A rich benefactor. It's a completely broken model. Been sussed out.

FFP is designed to protect Madrid, Barca, Utd, RS, Chelsea, Arsenal, Bayern, Milan Teams, Juve etc...

Those without historical European pedigree have no chance.

It's a stealth European Super League.
Ffp is being used the same way VAR is to keep the challengers back. Just ask Wolves.

If that was the case they’d protect Man City too for this super league.
I'm not so sure. City aren't a team with a huge global support and genuine revenue stream, which the likes of that shower, Real, Barca and Bayern et al. have.

Don't get me wrong, they're grown significantly over the past decade or so, but they are nowhere near Man United or others in terms of global appeal or audience.

If you were to go around America and China or any other country, how many people would say they're a City? Compare that to other teams listed above.

How many would buy their merchandise? Watch games? They are not a global team in the sense of those elite, and as such they can't compete with their revenue.

City's owners, like ours would probably want to do, would like to compete and therefore needs to invest heavily. FFP puts a big block on this, and stunts growth.

Those clubs who have historically prospered, at lest in terms of global image and how this financially supports them, are now protected by FFP - a global elite.

Forest won the CL twice, which is great, but it would be crass to say they're or ever have been a real global club in the sense of the above, nor will they ever be.

How can we compete with the best clubs if they've got the revenue, from their prestige, to buy the best when we're not allowed to spend money to close the gap?

City have spent the money to close the gap, and have been given a ban. Yes they're been playing with the accounts, which is wrong, but why did they have to?

It's a de facto closed shop because of the advantageous foundations that FFP has cemented itself on.

This will be the end of FFP as soon as its heard in front of CAS... or any other real court.

Ffp is nothing more than protectionism, illegal in any other Europe-wide sector of commerce, it will not sustain a legal challenge.

I think they already argued that one out?

Usmanov is not the owner of Everton FC, so sponsorship and other funding does not upset FFP. Moshiri is the owner and it is there doubts could arise if he gave the club money.

Exactly. Mansour has poured money into his own club through sponsorships. Usmanov doesn’t own a single share in Everton so that’s not an issue for us. Maybe it’s best if Usmanov never comes on board “officially”.

???

AC Milan have already been banned due to FFP for a year. They were originally banned for 2 years a couple years ago, managed to appeal that, then got in trouble for breaching again last year and had to agree a muted 1 year ban with the promise they'd clean themselves up.

The only conspiracy is Man City's rich corrupt Emirati ruler owners conspiring against rules they feel get in the way of them buying European success the way they've been able to buy domestic success.

Man City aren't some underdog. They're owned by people up there as the most powerful on the planet. Football fans are bizarre.
