Reading about him Marcelino sounds the most ideal of the names mentioned. 442, solid and effective using fast counter attacks. Not sure what his English is like or if he's a big character though

Jardim is an interesting one. His Monaco team had me watching every week.

Admittedly they had the likes of Mbappe, Lemar and Fabinho.. but Jardim knows how to play exciting football and coach a young side to win games.

I’d be delighted with Jardim, Marcelino, etc. Not convinced with Vitor and definitely not convinced with Howe or Moyes.

So, really confused by the Ralph Ragnarock(sp) links. He's...kind of like someone above Brands for the Red Bull teams. Yet he'd be fine WORKING for someone like that?

Then again, who the hell knows what our hierarchy is atm...

Jardin is an interesting one. Had a great few years at Monaco until they sold most of the squad.

Jardim is an interesting one. His teams at Monaco in the past have been amazing BUT they obviously gutted the team twice and the 2nd time and since they have been fighting relegation.

There have been some poor purchases and that led to him being punted for Henry...of course he then got brought back and saved them from relegation.

Id have been delighted with him a couple of years ago but not sure any more...

Would bring a huge amount of experience of course.

I think hes someone who could come in and have Ferguson as assistant for a couple of seasons.

If we are just going to piss about getting some other passionless foregin manager who retreats to his dugout as the first sign of trouble id rather we didn't bother, I am quite happy to see how dunc plays out... the season is a write off anyway.

Until players like Siggy, Schniederlin, Kean, Walcott, DCL, and Tosun are moved on or out of the starting line up the 442, hoof ball, counter attack only, low block style of play is fine and may be required until then to get results but its not sustainable and won't attract anyone to the club. We will cement ourselves in the 8th-11th place finishes for as long as we remain that way. People crying about Moyes and Arteta but in then same breath saying that Marcelino, Eddie Howe, or Dunc are ideal replacements. Again us Evertonians being more concerned with the flavor of the week than in actual long term. We need progressive football not something that is stagnant and been played in the league since the 70's and been the most common team set up for the better part of the decade by lower teams.

442 "block and hoof" with an effective counter wins a lot of games. Not every team ceding possession plays the exact same way. Marcelino won a trophy against a much better Barcelona side playing that way. Simeone and Atletico have been to two Champions League finals and unseated Real Madrid and Barcelona in La Liga "blocking and hoofing".

If you do anything well enough it will win games.

like a possession based 4-2-3-1?

You can do anything well that's true but the bar is set much much lower and which promising young talent will come to Everton knowing that we will be playing kick and run? Players like DCL would be all we would attract.
