In the Champions League games the commentators repeatedly made it a point to notice Van de Beek was playing uncharacteristically higher than normal and Frenkie was playing uncharacteristically deeper than normal.

Talks about our link to him and how he’s progressed from a 6 to an 8 and even a 10 in CL:

Van de Beek player profile and how he is best as an 8 or 6:

That's all great stuff but what I personally saw was an Ajax team that played much better when Van de Beek moved forward. The games against Juve and Madrid he was very much a number 10. Again I don't know that he cant play deeper but I'd rather we got someone like Sangare for instance who is 100% a deeper lying player. We don't really need to spend a ton on someone who might be best where Gylfi already plays.

Heres one, lets say the club sold every player since Moshiri came in and threw some money around and we broke even so the moneys wasted on Bolassie and Klassen etc were recouped so the likes of Lookman and Vlasic and Richarlison and Bernard and (whisper it) Digne were offset against the outrageous fees paid for Keane, Sigurdsson, Mina.

To restart square go would you lose the benefits to the squad to offset the colossal lossleaders.
