There remains plenty of time before the window slams shut, and whilst I appreciate loans don’t really happen any more, I believe that if Everton maintains a robustness in its processes, then that time affords it no little wiggle room.
West Ham on the other hand, find themselves in a kind of dilemma. They are something of a parvenu, devoid of football aesthetic and grace.

how is that 4 better? Gomez hasn't even played in the Premiership and Richarlison is better than all 3 of Anderson/Lanzini/Yarmolenko combined.

Gomez doesn't have to have played in the prem to be better than DCL and Tosun who are both tosh.

Anderson is better than Bernard

I would say Gylfi is better than Lanzini but in terms of contribution over the 90 minutes he's not massively better.

Richarlison is better than Yarmolenko

Arnautovic/Hernandez/Antonio are better off the bench than Tosun, Niasse and Walcott.

Overall if they sign Gomez they'll have a better attack than us no doubt - however that can change should Brands target the right players this window.

Risk you take but my point is everyone laughs off clubs like West Ham when if we were chasing someone like Gomez who's prolific in Spain for £30 million we would all be rightly optimistic.

People laughed off Wolves last season who finished above us. We aint as good as what we were years back and sadly these past 5 years of mismanagement under Martinez/Koeman/Walsh have allowed clubs like Leicester/Watford/Wolves/West Ham to catch up and now we are no longer clearly "best of the rest" chasing down the top 6 but more so in this little group of big spending but inconsistent clubs.

Gomez or a striker of that calibre is exactly the type of player we should be going for this window.

Im patient when it comes to transfers as you dont know whats going on behind the scenes but its clear the aim of this summer has to be quality over quantity.
We signed Sandro Ramirez for £5m who both Madrid clubs were apparently interested in, slotted in Spain and he turned out to be beyond toilet.

Who’s arsed about being “best of the rest” I’d rather be going all out to win a cup than trying to finish seventh or eight every season with nothing to show for it.

You’re telling me their individual players are so good but who says they can play in a system or a balanced team? Leicester had worse players than probably 75% of the league the year they won the league but as a team that season they were exceptional.

Gomez is no better than Tosun - very similar profile player but yes, he has got a sexier name. Yarms? Once upon a time perhaps.. Siggy will outscore Lanzini (again). Anderson does look a player I'd like tbf.

We will be above the hammers - it's not all about adding players - it's about gelling as a team. Something we started to do towards the end of last season. Bulk buying is not the way to go.. we should know that better than most. A mobile striker has to be our priority - DCL with goals..
Similar? One is a bigger target guy, the other is like a second striker. I feel like there are a few people on this board that think that Tosun is some straight up CF who is good in the air or something. They guy played outside all the time at Betsikas. He's more of a face up player and while he's a good finisher, he's not a target guy and can't really play with his back to goal at all.

This week on “Who’s Overtaking Us?” - West Ham United.

A classic of the genre, a sequel to the popular 2016, 2017 and 2018 films of the same name, sure to bring in the box office millions after the Newcastle, Leeds and Villa episodes flopped. An all-star cast has been assembled for this one as GOT really means business. Grab your popcorn and hunker down.
