According to Spanish reports he's agreed terms with Spurs they just need to sort a fee with Barce (n) can't really expect him to stay here when Champs league finalists offer him a key role in their team. It's been rumoured they were scouting him a good few months ago too so seems likely

At the end of the day mate, he was offered a key role at Barca and it didn't work out, in fact it was horrendous for him. He, by his own admission, was deeply affected by the situation. He's come here and been welcomed and loved since day 1 - would be a bit miffed if he turned his back on that. For Champions League or not.

The pressure at Barce compared to Spurs is massive and the fans expect perfection from the players, they also aren't afraid to get on the players backs quickly. Spurs he'll have a key role with less pressure, Champions league footie and a better quality of players around him without the same pressures as at Barce. Added to that they have the London factor. Would argue the pressure at Spurs isn't too dissimilar from here at Everton in terms of what the fans and club expect from the players difference is we're just bad at translating what's expected to what we do on the pitch.

Hopefully, because of his bad experience at Barcelona, his decision won't just be based on who currently has the better side. He's clearly enjoyed his time at Everton so fingers crossed that we can get the deal signed, sealed and delivered.

I like Andre Gomes but if he is going to Spurs we need to focus on Ruben Neves whatever the price. I mean, Gomes is great, but his stats aren't that good and if we keep Gana, we need a CM who can score and assist some times.

Most players make statements that they know the fans want to hear, will he back it up by telling Barcelona that Everton are the only team he'll entertain signing for?...time will tell.

No chance. With this new stadium now, Spurs need success. They're not far away from Arsenal now in terms of expectations and that's only going to grow with the stadium and success this season. Either way, we were the only club that took a chance on him and essentially resurrected his career, for him to then turn his back and jump ship. I hope Sigurdsson and even Pienaar are having words with him - try telling them the pressure is similar to here.
