New Everton Stadium Discussion

just cant see it happening.

its getting very close to final design for planning permission.. and its all very very quiet.

im thinking there could well be hundreds of small / minor revisions and even some very major ones...

I could be wrong but there are always leaks and snippets before big designs get released
Perhaps interference by certain local organisations, who are playing a key part in the entire process, may have played a part in a delay due to such amendments.

The Museum of Liverpool and the Mann Island apartments, too. All horrible buildings.

Our stadium would a mile or so from this key area. Are the club fighting back enough on this issue?
No the clubs advisors are letting Historic England, English Heritage & UNESCO drive this. Look how long anything takes. Over 5 months since last public consultation & we have no definitive date for 2nd consultation. No renders because we are scared of anybody from the 3 bodi s taking exception to them. It’s a joke.

BMD is a nice size, but it's essentially the wrong way round because you don't build stadiums East-West (there are a few exceptions but not many).

Why is this? Is it to do with the sun getting in ppl's (keeper's) eyes? Would be a lot easier to do E-W! Was having a look at the stadiums in London and they all seem to be just off N-S (true N-S maybe?).

The only thing that safe standing/rail seating will guarantee is that there’ll be a couple of thousand old farts moaning they they’re standing up

You know you will be able to choose whether to go in that area or not right??

Initially main stands were built in the west so that the majority of people had their backs to the sun. In modern times the same principle exists but also benefits TV cameras.
