Relegation Thread 25-26

It's like having an expensive set of golf clubs but no putter — you'd embarrass yourself every time you played and absolutely not be expected to challenge for anything other than the wooden spoon.
When Beto and Barry are putting

Well Moyes has said that he wont persevere too much longer with a misfiring pair of strikers, so we can expect him to try something different if it doesn't change. He also has a January window to get a CF in.

I expected us to be in the 7th-12 bracket. Higher end if fortunate with injuries, lower end if not *cough* Branthwaite.

Win against a newly promoted team tomorrow and we go... 12th. Above the likes of Fulham, Brentford and Newcastle. I wonder if their fans are seeing their arse about potential relegation.

Then beat Fulham at home and we'd be top 10.

Hardly a massive ask. Over to you, Moyes.

We won’t be spending in January as our CEO has already stated.

I'm not so sure now. I was confidentish of a top half finish based on Beto's last seasons form. But he's completely gone now it seems. He wasn't that good but had he continued that form, he would be a couple of goals up on what he has and that would probably be a handful of points too.

Barry just seems to be a complete flop atm.

Things will start to get very ugly very quickly if we do. The Fulham game will be absolutely must-win because quite obviously United will turn us over at Old Trafford. It's usually their easiest game of the season.

Then it's Newcastle, Bournemouth, Forest, Chelsea, Arsenal, Burnley and Forest away to end the calendar year — all games will be like we're a man down from the first whistle due to such horrifically ineffective striking options.

Very realistic chance of bottom three January first I am afraid. Anybody who thinks Beto or Barry will suddenly 'click', or that Grealish, Dewsbury-Hall, Gueye, Garner are going on a mad goal-scoring run is deluded.
Doomed then? Oh lor! Can't stand it anymore.

Big fan of Moyes currently, but it's also hard to argue with this. We need to show progress.

I’ve been pretty consistent since Nuno came in that I don’t think they’ll go down. Got nothing to do with their win today, I think their squad has too much quality and they won’t be relegated, same with Forest.

That's a big statement mate. They played well today, but if you look at their run post Burnley, it's very difficult.

Its interesting re Forest too, I looked at sides with 6 points and under after 10 games, most of them went down. I can't really see a world where both stay up.

We have sleep walked into a relegation battle if we lose tomorrow

The new stadium and grealish has masked the reality
Wouldnt put it down to "new stadium and Grealish" It was all down to INEPT signings that cost over £100m and nothing to show for it on the pitch. We were just sleepwalking BEFORE the summer window instead of having signings sorted quick like the big boys did. Always seem to daudle and leave everything last minute with hierarchy left desperate for signings.
