Match Thread Everton 0-3 Spurs . Sun Oct 26th. 4.30

Clapping a guy who gave his all for us. Scored one of the goals that kept us in the league and still openly says how much he loves us etc. yeah, massive Ming me.
it’s absolutely tinpot behaviour to clap an opposition player coming on when we’re 2-0 down and chasing a game. Kinda behaviour I’d expect from Leicester, not a so called big club like us, but ‘he loves the club’ 😭 I’m afraid your assessment is correct, you are a Ming.

I’d say the exact opposite to be honest. Tinpot behaviour would be for us all to pretend we hate him and give an embarrassing chorus of half hearted boos. A polite ripple of applause like he got is how normal people react because they don’t care whether someone in Nigeria who’s never been to a game will call them tinpot on social media and make them cry themself to sleep.

Fine margins in football and the desire from their players vs ours on the corners were the difference. They defended for their lives and we weakly allowed van Der Ven to get in ahead of us.

Thought there were encouraging signs today, just a frustrating day. Spurs were lethal but was very unimpressed with them in general and I'd say we were the better team on the day.

We need to avoid defeat at Sunderland and beat Fulham at home and kick on from there.
"Kick on"? See you missed out that game. MAN UTD away ?. Nightmare! 😄

Sorry you feel that way mate. I however guarantee you would never say that to my face. On a message board though, yeah.

Thomas Frank has always been very complimentary about our club and Goodison. However, I can’t agree that it was a great atmosphere on Sunday! It’ll take time as everyone knows but interesting if he generally thought it was great!

If you were clapping Richarlison coming on when we were 2–0 down, you’re a massive ming.

Some of the loudest noise the “can you sit down please” South Stand lot made all game was when they applauded him coming on, oh, and when they booed the taking of the knee too.
I suppose it's a matter of whether you like/respect the player. I remember fan favourite Duncan McKenzie pretty much getting a standing ovation when he scored against us at Goodison. Mind you, he was treated poorly by Gordon Lee when he became our manager, so that added a bit of spice.

Duncan McKenzie on scoring for Chelsea against Everton:

"...we played Everton at Goodison Park a few weeks later. I couldn't have written a better script. I got the ball on the touchline, just next to Gordon Lee, went past three Everton players and hit it in the bottom corner. The Everton fans went wild, like they (Everton) had scored. I enjoyed that."

Perfectly put. Calling everyone and everything tinpot is the most tinpot behaviour I imagine. The sign of a very low calibre human being.

Big Bob got a very warm reception when he returned to Goodison with Swansea City.

Dunc got a rapturous welcome when he came back with the Barcodes.
