Transfer Rumour Nathan Ake

I'm not completely against the idea, but it feels like we should have other priorities given our resources

We desperately need a right winger, a centre mid and a right back.

We also can't go through this season with Beto leading the line.

I'd put Ake about 5th in the list of priorities after that. He'd be a useful utility player, but he is probably earning loads of money so if I'm honest this seems bizarre to me. Smells of Delph.

Grealish I could understand, Ake no way is that acceptable, for the reasons I've already mentioned, but also for the positions we still need to fill this season, scattergun doesn't even begin to explain it.

And Delph smells of tulips in the spring

No idea. Probably not much. Pep wants a smaller squad so they need to get some players out the door. Akanji was linked to Galatasaray yesterday for around £15 million but wants to stay at City. Ake is older and probably on a higher salary, so you'd think he would be cheaper than Akanji.

Wages more of a concern than transfer fee, but if his salary is too high City might pay him too leave so he can/will agree on a lower salary.

I'm not sure being 4 months older than someone makes much difference tbh

Akanji would almost make more sense considering he's played right back a fair bit. I wouldn't be unhappy if either of them ended up here though, obvious step up in quality from what we have

Ake, I like him as a lad and a player, seems decent and would like it, if we could get him, if we had already a RW and RB and maybe looking at a DM and ST, but I really can’t see why we want this with more issues else where in our line up.

I don't think this is a bad signing? yes we have priorities in other areas but if we have just been made aware of his availability then I understand why we are trying to sign him.

Are people just against his signing due to needing a RW, RB and CM first. If we had those already would you be happy?

Here's a totally mad idea, if you want to sign a left back try and sign an actual left back, any maybe look beyond Manchester to try and find one. Try to avoid old, crocked and expensive players, who think they're doing you a favour with their mere presence because they once won everything they possibly could win somewhere else!
