Oh dear oh dear Spurs as Spursy off the pitch as they are on it .... it's laughable but if I'm honest I think the fact that it's been in the wind for a few weeks and wasn't done, and that Arsenal could then wrap it up in few hours seems like maybe he was hanging on for another club to come in.
I know there was the sticking point that he clearly wanted to play the first ECL qualifier, so if had to happen now, but that Spurs seemingly weren't even able to make a counter offer before he'd accepted the Gooner's deal makes it look like he never really wanted to go to Spurs, and who can blame him?
