The race to write off youngsters

We had fans who used to slag Luka
Is there a youngster who has been written off by the fanbase who went on to prove the fanbase wrong?
I was gonna say Lookman but St Domingo beat me to it, and Moise Keane, can't think of anyone else but I'm sure thers a few we've forgotten, I'm interested in seeing how Isaac Price does at West Brom, signed from Liege he's looking a good signing for them, also Nathan Broadhead has just become Wrexhams record signing, I'm not saying they would have made it here but good to see they are kicking on at a lower level

I hate evertonians being slagged off. Especially those who financially contribute to the club. The general consensus of match going evertonians is always right, no matter the topic. I’m not a match going evertonian BTW, so this isn’t a back handed compliment to myself.

They weren’t written off by the fans but I find it a sad indictment on Everton that in amongst all the attacking dross we’ve had playing for us that we had Moise Kean and Lookman on the books and neither of them were deemed good enough to barely get on the pitch yet went to Serie A and are now top players
Both wanted to leave btw.
Both were 2 or 3 seasons away from being the finished article you quote in your post.
We haven't had the time, monetary safety net or league position to be able to baby sit the likes of these 2 until they were ready.
For the last few years at a minimum, we have required every player around the 1st team squad, to be Premier league ready (far too many have failed before you hit me with a list as long as your arm).
Maybe putting them out on loan would be the answer, but I don't think we could afford to pay their wages while they learn.

Not just youngsters… people race to write off new signings, established players, the manager, the coaching staff, the physios, the scouts, the director of football, the transfer team, the legal team, the comms team, the ticketing team, the marketing team, the sales team, the hospitality team, the board, the CEO, the owners… anyone I’m leaving out?
