Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

They’ve had one good season.

Calm down everyone.
Exactly and even that was only 7th which some previous years doesn't even get you in Europe. Before last season, it was 17th and 16th and then 20 odd years in the lower leagues. Bit of perspective needed when referring to Forest. They are not a top club after 1 decent season in 20+ years.

There isn't a lot between the clubs that are c. 8th in the league and at the bottom. It only takes a couple of bad decisions at any level of the club and you can plummet. Look at Leicester. They were flying at the top of the league under Rodgers and regularly challenging for Europe and then they got relegated and are now a yo-yo club. Same with us, regularly up there at the top and then bad ownership led to us down near the bottom. Forest could easily finish 17th next season as much as they could finish 8th.

The overriding point is that clearly players view them as a better prospect than us currently. We’re still seen as a club that circles the drain every season, that’s the perception.

I wouldn't read a lot into it. Their owner is dodgy as anything and I would read more into the deals they do as associations that we wouldn't want to have with the club anyway.

If Forest repeat the form they showed at the end of the season rather than the start then we will be ahead of them this season.

They did well last season, let's see them repeat it .

The only one I'd have out of that lot is Chang.

How many players have turned us down for Forest this window?

Look at the people involved in the Luiz transfer. I think that’s something we should be glad to be away from.

It’s all agents nonsense.

Mentions transfers being close as the caption says, but towards the end of the conference when discussing playing at the new stadium on Saturday, says he wants a couple in to parade to the fans to show them “look this is the start”

Could be a lively week at last..

Meal deals on him this week

Doesn't really answer my question. To a player deciding between moving to Forest or Everton, why would they be tinpot and we aren't? All we've done for years is scrape by.
I don't agree with the tinpot club as they have some great history. It is a bit disappointing though if they do beat us to signings when apart from their great season last season, they have either been down there with us or not even in the league. Guess it shows how far away we actually are and it's going to take a good few years to get us back.
