People are saying Tom Fellows is not fast. That's no bad thing if your main asset is crossing the ball. It's very difficult to cross a ball with any accuracy if you're running with the ball at pace. Let's be honest, if pace was the primary attribute we required from a wide player then we would never have signed Trevor Steven or Kevin Sheedy - they were both slow, especially Sheedy. Watching the highlights of Fellows he doesn't seem that slow anyway. But the unbelievable number of assists show a consistent ability to work a bit of space and then deliver crosses to dangerous areas in the box. If there's one criminal failing of Everton in recent years (and today!) it has been the woeful delivery from wide positions into the box.
