I will believe what I want. That being that the notion he wasted 300 million is complete and utter drivel. I mean his outlay was closer to £400m than £500m for a start.

Oh and Zouma played 103 games for them, not 80, and he was placed on the transfer list because he only had a year left on his contract. After spending the previous season as captain. He was placed on the transfer list after Moyes left too.

125k a week. Tarkowski has played 109 for us in 3 yrs and was on a free

So let's not act as though he's a messiah and can't be scrutinised.

I get after years of misery, wanting to find optimism more than most this pre-season, but there's too much, almost blinkered Man Utd/INEOS type energy in this forum lately.

But surely if all of the players he bought are so terrible how did he manage to get them into Europe every season apart from his last (where he finished 9th and got to the quarter finals of the Europa league being knocked out by the german champions) and won a European trophy?

He obviously bought a couple of duds but the vast majority of players he bought for west ham were good enough to be competitive in the league and Europe.
