Match Thread Blackburn 1-0 Everton. Sat July 19th 3pm.

I never watch pre season games - Everton test my blood pressure August-May, they're not having my June-July too.

Avoiding injuries really is the main thing, but 0 goals from open play Vs Accrington and Blackburn - not that it's needed to tell me we still desperately need pace and ability to contribute in that final third. The sooner that comes, the better.

Pre season obviously doesn't matter but it's very easy to identify the problems that aren't going to magically disappear because points are on the line.

…..I have a number of theories, one is a poor pre-season often leads to a good season :pint2:
There’s never been a correlation either way but heads will fall off regardless.

We have a small squad as it is, with a couple still yet to return, so we are never going to be going full pelt at this stage. Would it be nice to be a bit less crap overall, and still beat lower league teams at a bit of a canter? Of course. Will it have any bearing whatsoever on our league campaign? Nope.
