Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

As we stand it’s been a disappointing start to the window. It’s not “bed wetting” or “soiling your undies” to say that, it just has.

So much needs to be done, and I’m pretty sure everyone here (including those who clearly won’t admit it) would have hoped and expected more signings to have been made by now.
Massively.... how difficult is it to prepare?

Seems like we are shocked every year that this transfer window comes around and we spend the 1st few weeks of it trying to remember how to do transfers!

As of today the window has been open for 47 days (with a week off in June).

I was hoping for 2-3 new outfield signings in that time, especially for known problem positions like right back and right wing.
We’ve got Alcaraz, Barry & Travers… 2 outfield & back up keeper.

Granted - not in that gaping hole of RW, but we’ve got the business end of the window to go.

imagine if we just signed some huge name out of nowhere

breaking news - everton sign rodrygo from real madrid or something crazy like that

owners making their own robinho statement
I’m yet to be convinced we actually have the finances to do that. We’ve spent a fair chunk of coin on Barry out of absolute necessity due to Calvert Lewis leaving, but as to the overall budget, that is still to be determined.

Roma interestingly, haven’t opened their wallet at all. TFG still have everything to prove to all of us. Proof of the pudding and all that.

This is another issue in owning more than one club by the way. You’re always going to get supporters of both clubs keeping a very close eye on the expenditure of the other. If we spent 150 million this summer and Roma spent nothing, their fans would rightfully scream blue murder. Exactly the same would happen here if the roles were reversed. You can’t be seen to be investing significantly more in one club or the other because that would inevitably create the theory that they’re prioritising one club over the other and there’s essentially a “priority” club.

Not a fan of being part of a multi club ownership for this reason.

he'd be bankrupt in 2 seasons

I wouldn't go as far as it's a disappointing window, yeah was haven't addressed the glaring gap in RW/RM but we have signed two quality young talents in Barry and Alcaraz? But as usual being Everton we decide on a back up GK before what we essentially need. Kind of like buying a back up keeper before signing a keeper (hypothetically)

I definitely would mate. Was expecting a lot more by now personally. Appreciate it’s all about opinions though. Of course you have to judge the overall business at the end of the window that goes without saying, but we can only go off what we’ve seen so far.

If you told someone in May that by 18th July we’d have signed 2 new players with one of them being a sub keeper, you’d have been told to stop being such a ridiculous crybaby bedwetter.

If you say “by now I’d have hoped for more ins” = not bed wetting

If you say things like “oh guess we’re gonna throw away August again” = bedwetting.

That’s the general barometer for wet kegs.
