Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

I’m all in on this lad. Much prefer this kind of signing to Luiz personally. Hackney and Harrison Armstrong as a pair would be exciting going forward. Actual footballers in the centre of the pitch controlling the game much better than we’ve seen in recent years.
Boro want 35million

Hackney is in in no way guaranteed to ever be Luiz level in PL and in case would take time to develop.

But this isn't the same team. Young, Doucoure, Harrison, Lindstrom, DCL and Mangala took part (starter or sub) in nearly 200 matches put together. Alcaraz partially covers Doucs (partially, because he too played in 16 matches already) and Barry covers DCL but rest are missing. We weren't even that badly hit by injuries, there were clubs far worse affected.

I do not think we will miss the output of any of those players mate...

Same.... Sunderland also shelling out another 20 mil on a winger.... what's that now 130/140 mil spent so far?

Not saying they are good players as I ain't got a clue, but seems other teams can do business.

But we will go with what we've got.
You have to spend to have a fighting chance now and I think Leeds and Sunderland fans will expect their teams to compete.

But we will go with what we've got.

Promoted teams always have money to play with and always need to try and improve their Championship squad.

Every single Summer 2-3 of the teams spend loads.

Every single Summer people on here get jealous of them.

Every single Summer most, if not all, those teams crash back down.

We wont though will we.
We will sign players

Well you’d like to think so, but at some point we’re going to have to start actually doing it. Last week we were being told “there’s 5 weeks to go, stop bed wetting”. Well now there’s 4 weeks to go. 2 of those we’re in America and definitely won’t be doing any business (you’re delusional if you think we will). So basically when you deep it, we’ve got 2 weeks to bring in players before we start the season. Given that it seems to take us 2 weeks to wrap up a single transfer I’ve yet to be convince by anyone that we’ll have any new signings in the starting XI at Leeds.

Yeah, but didn't Moyes reject him when he was lined up to sign for WH ?

BTW, I agree with your general points fwiw

Moyes rejected Gyokeres at West Ham? Wasn't aware of that.

But I do know Thelwell/Everton definitely tried to sign Gyokeres from Coventry, before he went to Sporting. We managed £17m an barely any of it was upfront. He ended up Sporting for £25m I think it was.

Seems every player we tried to get the last 2/3 years, went elsewhere and has done really well.

At least the club will be saving money on flight costs and hotel bills when going on the USA tour with half a squad 😆
Nah...we'll take the kids with us...still has to put a 11 players on the pitch...perhaps Everton should ask to have a 5 aside instead. That should be enough for rotation amongst our first team players.
