Transfer Rumour Douglas Luiz

Balzarini sounds sure it’s happening. They’re just haggling over the structure. He doesn’t mention any competition, so it seems like a normal part of the process.
You've done well digging this out mate.
But for me every season we get Italians spinning stories and they very rarely happen.
On the face of it ( never heard of this Balzarini before you mentioned him ) he looks close to Juve's dealings. So there could be some substance to it.
But the usual journos don't seem to be following it up.
If and it's a big If it's as advanced as this guy says it is that suggests there would be agreement with the player.
Hope it happens because he is a quality player but still on the sceptical side atm.

Welcome to Everton, Dougie!

Someone chime in and correct me, but based on this and the previous video, it sounds like Balzarini is saying that there would be a 10 million Euro loan fee with either a 30 million option (Everton's preference) or a 30 million Euro obligation (Juventus's preference).

The 10M loan fee is pretty close to his estimated annual salary, so maybe that's a clue as to Juve's thinking.- have hos wages covered for the season and then get a good amount of the original fee back nrxt year when there's another few mil off their amortisation bill.

This is one that should go through very quickly as it suits all partys.

If true you'd think they'll end up in the middle and it'll end up being an option that turns into an obligation if he reaches a certain number of starts

Be a very good signing unless we tried playing him as a holding midfielder which he's actually not that good at. It's why in part he stank the gaff out at Juve. Luiz is pretty much a natural box to box mid.

Same as I think Alcaraz best position will be ultimately.

Big upgrade in the centre if we play him properly, but still leaves Gueye and Garner as whoever partners him - neither of which is a natural holding mid either.

not everyone we bring in can be 21-23 without much top level experience though so do need the right balance.

Want us to go for both Mcatee and Elliot this summer - yeah big outlay required.

But would leave us with potentially 5 starters without many top level games between them O'Brien, Mcatee, Elliot (or Dokes), Barry, Branthwaite.

So yeah we do need to make sure we have a good balance of experience around them too. (Obviously conjecture on who we may bring in)

Expect he'd take Garners place and my take is that if were planning to setup to counter then him and Alcaraz could be exceptional on the quick transitions.

Add in a right mid/winger and there could be quite a potent threat being built out. Of course, we'd need to sign him first!!

Branthwaite literally played for 2 seasons and O'Brien had a career in Ligue 1 too. Not sure what constitutes 'many' games but im willing to say that those 2 have experience in abundance. Plus you use the wiser older heads to bring the younger ones through. Its leadership.
